First time booking a face painter? Here is exactly how it works — from arrival to the last design.
Picco The Clown arrives before the party starts — typically 15 minutes early — to set up a dedicated face painting station. All that is needed from the host is a table, two chairs and good light. Setup takes about five minutes.
Kids line up at the station and each child chooses their own design. This is one of the most popular parts — the anticipation while waiting to choose adds to the excitement. Younger children who are unsure are gently guided through simple, quick options.
Each design takes between three and eight minutes depending on complexity. For a standard birthday party of 10 to 12 kids, one hour covers everyone comfortably.
Popular choices at Ballarat birthday parties include tigers, butterflies, superheroes, fairies, Spiderman, dinosaurs, rainbows, cats, flowers and stars. Full face designs like clowns and skeletons are available for older kids who want something dramatic.
Every child gets something unique — and every child chooses for themselves, which is half the fun.
All paints used are professional-grade, water-activated face paints that are hypoallergenic and specifically formulated for children's skin. They wash off easily with warm water and a face washer. If any child has a known skin allergy, let us know before the event.
A minimum of one hour for small parties up to 10 children. For 15 or more kids, allow 1.5 to 2 hours so every child gets painted without feeling rushed.
Tigers, butterflies, superheroes, fairies, dinosaurs, rainbows, Spiderman and flowers are the most popular. Every child chooses their own design, which is part of the fun.
